December 11, 1931 — January 30, 2025

William Peter Coppa 93 of Globe, Arizona, passed away on January 30,2025.

Willie Coppa was born on December 11,1931 in Globe, AZ, to Pete and Irene Coppa. After
graduating from Globe High School in 1949, he enlisted in the United States Navy. There, he proudly
served as a radio operator from 1949 to 1953, during The Korean War. His dedication to serve
his country earned him several commendations, including The Korean Service Medal,
Occupation Medal, National Service Medal, and a Radar Specialist Medal.

After leaving the Navy, Willie married a woman he loved even more than his Chevy. They had
three children together. He went on to have a successful career at Inspiration Consolidated
Copper Company, where he was a maintenance supervisor. He was known for his dedication
and was respected by all who worked with him. Upon retiring, he and his wife summered in
Pinetop. There, they became favorites to the local wildlife critters and birds!

Willie was preceded in death by his wife Tassie Coppa, brother Louis Coppa, daughter Allette
Mitchell, son John Coppa and granddaughter Ashley Guana. He is survived by his son Micheal Coppa,
daughter-in-law Sonya Coppa, daughter Gail Dalmacio, sister-in-law Nancy Coppa, sister
Virginia Baer, sister Mary Holiday, nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Willie Coppa will be remembered fondly for his love of trains, westerns and family.
