In Loving Memory of Allen Mayo
February 15,1956 – November 22,2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Allen Mayo announces his passing on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the age of 66. Allen was born in Dragerton, Utah to Wallace and Betty Mayo. They moved to Arizona when Allen was just 2 years old. Allen graduated Miami High School in 1974.
As a young man he started working in the Copper Mines of the Globe-Miami area, which he did for 24 years. After some time, he realized his passion was helping others. That passion prompted him to become a volunteer Firefighter with Central Heights Fire Department and Canyon Fire Department. He then decided to pursue becoming a Paramedic.
Allen worked at Globe Fire Department as a Firefighter-Paramedic, a Flight Paramedic with Native Air and a Paramedic at the Globe Community Hospital Emergency Room. Allen also served on the Rescue Diving Team. He was a hard dedicated worker and was devoted to his profession. He has served his beloved community of Globe – Miami for many, many years. During his time off he enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Camping in the White Mountains, Scuba Diving in Jamaica. Allen also enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball and loved all sports, whether it was Football, Basketball, Baseball or Golf but was devoted to his Arizona teams. Allen always came up with a nickname for everyone and thoroughly enjoyed teasing and giving everyone and anyone a hard time. Allen was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend.
Allen is survived by his loving wife Debbie of 29 years, Daughter Bernice Smith (James), Nicole Basford (Mike) and Brianne Ramirez. His Mother, Betty Mayo and siblings Leila Mott (Don), Annetta Thompson (Steve), Dennis Mayo, Ruth Lundquist (John), Father and Mother-in-Law, Richard and Lucy Casillas. Sister In Laws Lucy Gomez, Karen Gaona, Liz Mabbitt (Mike) and Brother-in-Law, Richard Casillas. Allen will also be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Alton Mayo and Sister-in-Law Rose Casillas and Cathy Mayo.
Allen will be greatly missed and loved forever.
The stories and memories he leaves behind will live on in his remembrance.
