Virginia Dale Splane

Virginia Benefield Splane, a lifetime resident of Globe, Arizona, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 63 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 11, 1960, Virginia was the beloved daughter of Edna and Jodie Benefield her sister’s, Donna Jo and Bonnie Lee, who all precede her in death. Virginia is also survived by her two children, Alycia Lee (Julian) and Chad Splaine, as well as her grandchildren Bryonna, Conner, Gage, Jillian and Kaiden. Her beloved fiancé, Faustino Castillo cousin, Larry Fuller (April) and best childhood friend, Rhonda Shank Ruegamer.

Virginia’s journey began in Globe, where she grew up, surrounded by the love and support of her close-knit family. From a young age, it was evident that Virginia possessed a spirited nature, marked by her innate strong will and remarkable sense of humor that was loved by all who knew her.

A graduate from Globe high school in 1978. She remained deeply rooted in her hometown, where she made lasting connections with friends and neighbors and community members.

She faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience, never losing her sense of humor, even in the face of adversity.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held from 11:00AM - 2:00PM on October 26th, 2024, at the Elks Lodge in Globe, Arizona.  In lieu of flowers. The family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to the homeless coalition of a Cobre Valley PO Box 1173 Claypool, AZ 85539, a cause very dear to her and the community.

As we mourn the loss of Virginia, let us also celebrate the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved, and will be forever cherished.
