Verda Faye Salter Polk age 54 of San Carlos, Arizona passed away on February 27, 2020 at the San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center in Peridot, Arizona. She was born in San Carlos, Arizona on December 14, 1965. She was the daughter of Irene Hooke and Joseph Goode. She was a homemaker. She attended Rice Elementary School then went to Phoenix Indian High School. She was trained in Culinary Arts in Reno, Nevada then moved back to San Carlos to get married and become a mother. She did a lot of cooking for the homeless and for the San Carlos community. She loved to play Bingo and Gin Rummy. Verda loved to dance and to collect souvenirs. She is survived by her husband Francis Polk “Punchie” of San Carlos, her children Duane Goode (Shauna) of San Carlos, Leroy Salter of San Carlos, Irene Goode of San Carlos, Starlene Salter of San Carlos, Roman Hoffman of San Carlos, her siblings Keno Goode Sr. of San Carlos, Kathleen Goode of San Carlos, Dinah Noline of San Carlos, Mardela Goode of San Carlos, Kinley Goode of San Carlos and 18 grandchildren. Wake was on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Karen Johnson’s residence. Funeral Services were on Saturday March 7, 2020 at Burdette Hall in San Carlos, Arizona Interment was in Northgate Cemetery.
