Theresa Carol Salmeri

Theresa Salmeri passed away peacefully at her home on April 14, 2023, at the age of 71.
Theresa moved to Globe, Arizona in the summer of 1989 and began her career as a corrections officer;
eventually retiring from the Globe Prison. During her 34 years of living in the Globe/Miami area, Theresa
made numerous friends and was known for her delicious cooking, famous parties, her entertaining
personality, and her ability to tell stories in a way that would make you laugh so hard you were often left
wondering if she had missed her true calling in life. She also loved gardening in her free time; Golden
Hills Nursery and Feed Center was her second home. Her home, inside and out, was always a beautiful
display of flowers, plants, and various vegetables.

Upon retirement she traveled from the Northwest to the East Coast to visit her children, grandchildren,
relishing the fresh seafood each coast offers. She loved watching the Cooking Channel to learn how to
make tasty meals; always putting her famous, yet secret, spin on them. She would then force everyone
to try them, never revealing the secret recipe. The famous yet secret spin can now be revealed...she
never remembered exactly what she did, that’s why she couldn’t tell you.
In order to have more meaningful interactions with those around her, Theresa had a passion for
continuously learning about various cultures and everything regarding history. With this continual
learning, she equally loved reading a great book.

Anyone who knew Theresa, knew her two favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas in which she
spent months preparing for. She was deeply passionate about her pets; so passionate, her children were
often left wondering who sat at the top of the ladder of love, but never asked as Theresa always told
them, “Don’t ask a question, you really don’t want to know the answer to.” But if you really knew
Theresa you would know the greatest loves of her life were her children and grandchildren and if one of
them would call for anything, she was on the first plane with her animals in tow, of course.
Theresa is survived by her children Shawn Salmeri, Anna (Salmeri) Houston; grandchildren: LaSandrea
Salmeri, Pierre Salmeri, Kobie Salmeri, Rosie (Salmeri) Houston; and 1 great grandchild.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents George and Mary.
Theresa will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, her close friends at her church, First
Southern Baptist Church, and those who knew her.

Services will be held privately with immediate family. Assisting the family will be Lamont Mortuary of Globe (928) 425-5491
