Shirley Marie Frost

Shirley Marie Frost passed away on November 17, 2023, at home with Loren at her side. Shirley was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1942.  Her parents were Daisy and Harold Jordan. She attended Adventist schools in Langley, BC. Shirley married Joe Ducey in 1962, and had three children, Sue, Brent, and Blair.  During this time the family lived in Calgary, Alert Bay, and Whitehorse, Canada.  In the 70’s they moved to Edmonton where Shirley worked as a bank teller.  Then they moved to Abbotsford where Shirley had a long career working for the Abbotsford News, doing paste-up, layout, and proofreading. The family also had a hobby farm where Shirley helped raise chickens and cows. In later years she spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling and even went to Ukraine in the 90’s with her good friends. Blair remembers that Shirley loved to drive fast cars with the top down and the radio blaring!

In 2000 Shirley went to her 40th class reunion and reunited with her classmate, Loren Frost.  She soon moved to Spokane and they married in 2005. She called Loren the “love of her life” and her “reason for living.” She enjoyed decorating and remodeling a 100 year old house in Dixie, Washington. Then they moved to Colville to be closer to her family in Canada, visiting them frequently. They also traveled often to Arizona and the Oregon Coast.  Shirley liked to cook, travel, take photos, go to concerts, and spend time with friends and family. She was loved by everyone who knew her and famous for her quick wit and beautiful smile.

Shirley is survived by her husband Loren, son Blair, three grandchildren, Tyler, Graham, and Megan, and two great-grandchildren, Brad and Tate.
