Sherron Lavin, age 74, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 29th peacefully at her home with family by her side. Sherron was born January 24th, 1947, to Harold and Betty Loyd. She was their one and only child. She was raised in Globe, Arizona, graduating from Globe High School in 1965. Thereafter, she attended school in San Francisco, California, pursuing a career as a dental hygienist. After returning to Globe, she married Joe Lavin on February 16th, 1968. They resided at the Gila County Fairgrounds where Joe worked as the Fairground's Manager. Together they had two daughters, Susan and Jo Lynn. Sherron was one of the original employees hired by Southwest Gas when they first opened their doors in 1984 and after nearly 30 years retired in 2011. She had two passions in her life, her family, and the Gila County Fairgrounds, to which she dedicated over 40 years of volunteer service with Gila County Fair, 10 years of which she served as Fair Chairman, later serving 7 years as Chairman of Gila County Fair and Racing Commission. She was a devoted friend, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was proudly known as "Grandma Sherron" to many. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Sherron is proceeded in death by her parents Harold and Betty Loyd. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Cooper (Stephenville, TX) and Jo Lynn Lavin (Globe, AZ); Grandchildren, Joshua Becker, Laci Chase (Kyle Underwood) (Globe, AZ), Dalli Chase (Midland, TX.) and Dalyn Chase (Globe, AZ); Great-Grandchildren, Haidyn Walker, Emmet Underwood, Raylan Becker, Ryan Underwood and Jhett Munoz.
Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gila County Fair Grounds in Globe, Arizona.
Interment of ashes will be held at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Miami, Arizona.
