Rose Fresquez

June 1, 1937 — April 30, 2024

In loving memory of our beloved Rose Fresquez, who left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She was born on June 1, 1937, in Llano, New Mexico to Candido Miera and Magdalena Duran. Rose passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, at 5:59pm surrounded by family.

Rose graduated from Penasco High School in 1956. She married her husband, Henry Fresquez in 1957, celebrating 67 years of marriage. Together they raised 5 children, Gloria, Pat, Debbie, Retta, and Manny. Throughout the years, our family lived in Ely, Nevada, Grants, New Mexico, Bisbee, Arizona and finally made Globe, AZ home in 1964.

While raising her young children, Rose enjoyed selling Avon and met many wonderful friends along the way. As the kids got older and began attending school, she began her career at JC Penney in 1973. Rose became the face of the catalog department and built lifelong friendships with many customers and coworkers. While working, she always found time to cook, bake, and sew clothes for her girls. Rose retired in 1996 after dedicating 23 years of service in the retail industry.

Rose spent her retirement years enjoying trips around the world, camping in the White Mountains, volunteering in her community such as delivering for Meals on Wheels, and helping at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a dedicated member of the Ladies of Fatima group and ran the Catholic gift store during monthly breakfasts. She was also a eucharistic minister and an active member of the Charismatic Movement. In her free time, she became a remarkable artist, painting places from her childhood and images to give family members as gifts. Above all, Rose spent her time with family and helped raise her grandkids.

Rose is survived by her husband, Henry Fresquez, her children, Gloria (Terry Sonico) of Martinez, CA, Pat (Brian Miller) of Flagstaff, and Manny Fresquez of Gilbert. Rose was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Rose is preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, Candido Miera and Magdalena Duran, her sister Isabel, daughters Debbie Ruiz and Retta Masloff, and granddaughter Ashley Fritz.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, as she was the “Rock” of our family!
