Robert Anthony Asanovich

June 17, 1952 — August 3, 2021

Robert (Bob) Anthony Asanovich entered eternal rest at his home surrounded by family on August 3, 2021.  Bob was born on June 17, 1952 in Miami, Arizona to Matthew Asanovich and Betty (Olmos) Asanovich.

As a young boy Bob lived in Superior for a short time prior to moving back to Miami where he graduated with the MHS class of 1970.  After graduation, Bob worked for the Christmas and Inspiration Copper Mines where he held various positions and was an active representative for the Steelworkers Union.  He was proud to be the first baseman of Miami’s National Softball Championship Team of 1977.  He always maintained his small-town pride and cheered on his hometown sports teams in addition to following the sports accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Miami, Arizona until he moved to Chandler in 2014 to be closer to his family.  Bob loved visiting with family and friends of which he had many.  He loved hunting, fishing, dancing, music, campfires and his beloved pets.  Bob enjoyed telling stories and telling jokes to anyone who would listen.  Many of his famous catchphrases will stay with loved ones for years to come.

Bob was blessed with 4 children: Gabe Monteverde, Cristi Lee Licano, Adrea (Justin) France, Robert Joshua (Jami) Asanovich and 7 grandchildren: Julie & Lauren France, Rylee & Robert Austin Asanovich, Kylee & Brynlee & Myah-Linn Monteverde and Breanna Griego. Bob was preceded in death by Matt & Katherine Asanovich(Grandparents), Matthew Asanovich(Father), Jack Asanovich(Brother) and Cristi Lee Licano(Daughter).  He is survived by Betty Morales(Mother), Brothers Matt (Julia) Asanovich and Aaron Asanovich,  Sisters Shonnah (Mike) Area and Lisa (Morales) Romero, his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend and companion, Dolores Gaona.

Memorial services will be held privately.
