Rene O Velasco

Rene O Velasco, 74 of Miami Arizona, passed away on January 2, 2021 at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe. Rene Velasco was born on September 13, 1946 to Artimisa Guerrero and Juan Velasco in Douglas Arizona. Survivors include his wife Yolanda (Yoli) Velasco; Daughters Veronica Brown, Monica Velasco, Annalinda Velasco, Reyna Peery (Justin); Sisters, Eva Warden, Marvella Gallardo (Gary), Bettina Amado and Suzie Velasco; Brothers Juan Velasco, (Linda) Ruben Velasco, (Donna) Mario Velasco, (Ginger) Ernie Velasco, (Sharon) Timmy Velasco. Rene has 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Rene was preceded in death by his father Juan Velasco, his mother Artemisa (Mitcha) his twin brother David, his son John Velasco, brother Timmy Velasco and sister Susie Velasco and his step father Antonio Guerrero. Rene enjoyed dancing with his wife Yoli, his high school sweetheart of 56 years. They twirled around the dance floor every opportunity they had. Rene also loved giving back to the community with his wife Yoli. They loved his Harley Davidson and riding with the Independent Riders, especially at Christmas. Rene will be missed by his large family and his huge circle of friends. Vaya con dios to a loving husband, compassionate father and friend to all. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Bullion Plaza. Attendees will be asked to drive through the front driveway of the museum.
