Raymond Gerardo

Seventy-nine-year-old Raymond Almeyda Gerardo AKA Fats was born on September 28, 1940 and passed away on February 11, 2020 in Globe, AZ.  Fats was born to Alexander Gerardo and Aurora Almeyda Gerardo in Miami, AZ (Turkey Shoot).  Fats was a lifelong resident in the Globe/Miami area.  He attended Miami Schools and enlisted in the service where he served in the 82nd Air Borne Division, serving as a proud paratrooper.  When he returned he was employed by the mining industry as a laborer and retired as a heavy-duty mechanic. A few of Fats enjoyments were going out to the Pinal's and being outdoors. Fats liked to attend many of the local events in the community, he loved to socialize throughout his community. He is survived by his loving wife Irene Gerardo.  His children Ginny Ann Gerardo, Raymond Dean Gerardo, Joe Gerardo (Katy), Dorothy Sancedo (Steve), George Gerardo (Sue Lynn), Paul Gudino, Stephen Gerardo (Tonia), Jacob Sanchez, Beau Gerardo and Daughter in-law Cathy Sanchez. Fats had thirty-nine grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Fats is Preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Aurora Almeyda Gerardo, his siblings Alexander (Jr.)Gerardo, Flever Gerardo, George Gerardo and Rosalie Medina (Honey).  His daughter Marie Gerardo Hemphill, his son Jason Sanchez, granddaughter Ashley Sanchez and grandson Michael Hemphill, his nephew Georgie Gerardo and his great niece Melinda Sanchez. He will be missed and loved by many people, his family, his friends and the Globe/Miami community. Services will be held Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at the Miami Bullion Plaza, viewing at 3:00 pm to 4 pm, immediately following the services will be a dinner.
