Rankin Nosie, age 72, of San Carlos, Arizona passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at San Carlos, Arizona. He was born in San Carlos, Arizona on April 2, 1949. Rankin was the son of Buster Nosie and Edith (Dude) Nosie. He attended San Carlos Day School and went to Stewart Indian Boarding School in Nevada where he graduated. At 18 he started working as a wildland Firefighter with San Carlos Forestry; BHP magma copper mine as a laborer and was promoted to an operator for the next 25 years. Then he worked as a custodian for 10 years at San Carlos Prevention program and transitioned to the San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corp. for four years as a custodian. Rankin loved eating Mexican food, especially tacos; he liked to travel and loved his 1972 ford truck. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Fixing his vehicles was one of his hobbies, working on his yard and keeping up with current events all over the world. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was humble, very kind hearted and patient. He loved the lord and we feel he was ready to see the lord. Rankin was preceded in death by his parents Buster and Edith (Dude) Nosie. His sister Brenda (Nosie) Yazzie, his grandchildren Cody Jeff Black and Gracie Layla Nosie. His brothers Hollis Tonto and Rex Tonto, Sr. He is survived by his wife Victoria (Black) Nosie of San Carlos, his children Matthew Nosie (Johanna) of Peridot, Natassia Black and Vivian Nosie of San Carlos, his brothers Gibson Nosie, Wilke Nosie of San Carlos, and eight grandchildren.
A Wake will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at the Nosie Residence, Kitcheyan Rd, Darkest Corrner, Gilson Wash District in San Carlos, Arizona.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at San Carlos Miracle Church in Peridot, Arizona.
Interment will follow at Northgate Cemetery, Tonto St., in San Carlos, Arizona.
