In loving Memory of Ralph “Chapo” Garcia February 15, 1935 - November 13, 2024 Ralph “Chapo” Garcia passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on November 13, 2024. Chapo lived a long and full life marked by his strong personality, love for his family, and enduring resilience. For 50 years, Chapo was the beloved husband of Irene Garcia, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and dedication. Together, they built a beautiful family and home. Chapo was a proud father of 6 children, grandfather of 23, great-grandfather of 58, and great-great grandfather of 17. He took immense pride in watching his family grow, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. Chapo enjoyed swimming, hunting, fishing, and was a skilled craftsman. Chapo had a career in mining that spanned over 37 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at the Christmas mine for 17 years before he retired as a tank house operator from Phelps-Dodge in 2001. Known for his unwavering spirit and strength, Chapo had a presence that was felt by everyone who knew him. His sharp wit, firm opinions, and deep sense of loyalty made him a source of wisdom and strength for his loved ones. His family will remember his quick humor, his love for God, and the many lessons he imparted. Chapo is preceded in death by his wife Irene, his sons Armando and Robert Yescas, and his daughter in law Dixie Garcia. He is survived by his children Patsy Arvizu (Francisco), Virginia Doumis, Art Yescas (Nanette), Lupe De La Torre (Nick), Ralph Garcia, Johnny Garcia (Mary Ann), his sister Grace Escudero and his many nieces and nephews.
