Nathaniel Jordan Lyon

August 28, 1996 — December 22, 2020

Nathaniel Jordan Lyon was born in Miami, Arizona on August 28th, 1996. His energy and enthusiasm for life allowed him to meet, serve, and love many people. He attended kindergarten in Miami, elementary school in Globe, middle and high school in Avondale, and college in Thatcher, Arizona. The youngest of three children, Nate participated in drama, choir, scouts, youth soccer, and basketball. He loved books and music but also enjoyed getting out to explore, hike, or just play with friends and family. In high school he continued in choir but also tried his hand at wrestling and enjoyed public speaking winning the top speech award at Boys’ State and a scholarship from the American Legion. Earning his Eagle at age fifteen, Nate really looked forward to hikes into the Grand Canyon, relished trips to Havasupai, and hiking and camping while going Rim-to-Rim-to Rim. He worked and saved money so that he could serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chile. Teaching and sharing the gospel helped grow his testimony of the Savior. When he returned from his mission, he attended EAC in Thatcher and was working toward a nursing degree. Nate had a loving, giving, and fun personality. Joking around with words, people, and life, he had dreams and plans for his future and he did not mind sharing those with everyone. He also enjoyed traveling whether to historical sites or hiking areas but especially to warm ocean beaches. Nate passed away on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 due to complications from a cerebral mass which was discovered after he suffered a concussion a few days prior. He is survived by siblings Lillie and Reed, his parents Trent and Suzi, and his cat Greg. We love Nate and he made us all proud! Visitations will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. Globe Stake Center in Globe, AZ Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 A.M. at the LDS Church. Interment will be at R.V. Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, AZ at 2:30 P.M.
