Morty G. Van Haren

December 4, 1954 — June 28, 2021

Morty Van Haren entered into eternal everlasting life with our Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of June 28, 2021. Born on December 4, 1954 to Wilfred & Lois Van Haren. He married Brenda on October 20, 1978 and celebrated 42 years of marriage. Morty lived a very blessed and rich life. When one thinks of riches, they think of the monetary value in everything. Anyone that knew Morty, knew that he believed that riches came from all that God provided. From the sunrise to the sunset, the beautiful pastures he saddled up and rode in everyday or even all those events he spent dallying the rope with the best of his friends; it was something that he felt was much more precious than diamonds and gold. It was the simplest of abundance that made Morty a rich man. He loved his wife, children, family, grandchildren, ranching family, roping family, horse and his cats. Morty was a well-respected cowboy, rancher, a man of his word, a man of God and a fantastic roper. Morty spent several years serving as a Deacon at the Maranatha Baptist Church and Leader in the children’s AWANA Group. Morty is survived by his wife Brenda, his children Clint (Mira) and Travis (Kristen), grandchildren Katy and Landyn Van Haren. His brother John (Lynda), sister Vicki (Dusty) Wold, his brothers Tom (Stacy), Todd, Scotty and sister Amy Taylor. The Van Haren family wants to take time to acknowledge Mr. Jim Webb and his many lifetime roping partners “Morty shall see you again in the short round.” He is preceded in death by his parents. May you ride tall in that saddle in heaven as you did here on Earth. Happy Trails! Celebration of Life will be on July 10, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gila County Fairgrounds Contributions may be made to AWANA Club c/o Maranatha Baptist Church P.O. Box 1762 Globe Arizona, 85501
