Michael L. Tower (Mike), 73 years of age, passed away October 24, 2020 at the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 23, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to J.R. and Dorothy Tower. Mike attended Globe High School, graduating in 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, was deployed to Vietnam in 1968, and was awarded the Purple Heart during this time. Mike enjoyed going to the Globe Active Adult Center, playing bingo and earned the nickname of “Bingo Nazi”. He also loved playing poker at the Apache Gold Casino where he was able to spend time with his son, Cory, who was also his favorite poker dealer. Mike shared many interesting stories about Globe’s old buildings and loved talking about the “good old days” in Globe. He was always ready for a political debate. Globe-Miami’s Mexican food was a favorite, as well as sharing a steak with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Dorothy Tower; Brothers Terral Tower and Rick Tower. Mike is survived by his siblings, Chuck Tower (Leslie), Ronnie Tower, David Tower (Debbie), Patty Villegas (Danny), Tamera Guerin (Larry). He leaves behind 5 children, Cory Tower, Danny Tower (Tiffany), Tammy Guevara, David Guevara, Tony Guevara, Tina Gilliam (Randy). He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mike will be missed by family and friends. Till we meet again Pops. We love you and will miss you deeply. God Bless and watch over us. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
