Maxx Mitchell Norman, age 42, of Glendale, Arizona and also known to many as, “Hardy", was born June 15, 1982, in Phoenix, Arizona to Willie & Marion Norman. He went home to be with the Lord, July 12, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. Maxx attended Rice Public Schools as a child and furthered his education. He was raised in Peridot, Arizona and grew up in Hallelujah Square with his two siblings, Anthony Norman and Letecia Black. Maxx had obtained his GED, attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) and Central New Mexico Community College. Maxx took an interest in culinary arts and was very passionate about cooking and wanted to pursue his career goals in becoming a chef in which he did. He worked in the restaurant industry where he was a line cook, prep cook, and a chef. He was skilled in all traits of managing foods and culinary operations of a restaurant, hotel, catering service, and other food-related businesses. He would oversee the daily food preparations and plan the entire menu and direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns. Maxx was responsible and would study recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes and made sure his kitchen was run smoothly. Maxx loved to travel to many places near and far. His love for the cold weather was always one that he was fond of and he let that be known to everyone that knew him. He traveled and lived in Anchorage, Alaska where he became employed at Wal-Mart for a short period of time. Maxx also traveled to New York, where he resided with family upon returning to Arizona. His move home to Arizona led Maxx to embarking on to the Grand Canyon where he soon became employed at Xanterra Parks and Resort Grand Canyon Village, at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. While employed with Xanterra, Maxx made numerous friends and he learned much more about his skills as a chef that led him to become more passionate in the field that he worked in. Maxx was employed with Xanterra for years before moving back to Phoenix, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Maxx loved all his family and friends dearly and they loved him just as well. He was loved deeply by his sisters, cousins and especially his niece Ausha, whom he loved. He held a special bond with everyone and those he had crossed paths with. He was vibrant, outspoken, well mannered, educated, and always had the group of people he had hung out with laughing. He was sociable and knew how to keep everyone in a good mood regardless of what was going on in his life or theirs, he was a joy to be around. Maxx is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Letecia, and numerous family members. Maxx is going to be deeply missed by everyone, especially his niece Ausha and those close to him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at World Evangelism Revival Center in San Carlos, AZ. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 P.M., at World Evangelism Revival Center in San Carlos, AZ. Interment will follow at Northgate Cemetery in San Carlos, AZ.
