How do you say goodbye to your mom?

There is a hole that one feels, and it takes a long time to adjust; like a piece of your foundation is gone. An unspoken but present advocate is suddenly missing. Mary is the passing of a generation.

Mary A. Smith, of Globe, Arizona, born September 09, 1925, in West Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on March 14, 2023, at her home of her oldest son, Keith.

She is survived by her children Kay (Dave) Lewis of Mesa; Keith (Hazel) Dillon of Globe; Ken (Donna) Smith of Globe; Leon (Lana) Dillon of Kingman; and Bob (Dorothy) Dillion of Kingman. Mary has two sisters in West Frankfort, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was very proud of the fact that she has a combination of 61 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; with another great-great-grandchild due in June.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Ronald Gene Dillon, and her husband Herbert Lee Smith; and 7 siblings.

Mary was the most loved and cherished Mother in the world. She lived for her family and will be missed!

As Abraham Lincoln said, "And in the end, it is not the years in a life, it is the life in the years."

A private family service will be held at a later date.
