Mary M. Butterworth

Mary Margaret Butterworth, age 77, of Globe Arizona passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her residence in Globe. She was born in Pierre South Dakota on June 28, 1944. Mary was the daughter of Bessie (Berry) Shaffer. Mary went to school and graduated at Timberlake High School in Timberlake, SD. She worked in the treasurers office in Timberlake before coming to Arizona in the 70’s. She was also a customer service rep. for several restaurants in the Globe-Miami area. She enjoyed gardening, sun bathing (when she was young), her grandchildren, great-grand children, and Johnny Cash, Coca-Cola, and Chuck Norris. Reading, gardening, puzzles, and collecting everything Coca-Cola were some of her favorite hobbies. Mary was born in the family farm house, the youngest of 11 children in SD. She was raised milking cows, raising chickens, doing 4H, and attending church with her siblings and mother.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank Butterworth, brothers; Lawrence, Paul and Rodger Schaeffer, and her sisters; Cecelia (Sissy) Heeb and Irene Winterburg.

She is survived by her sisters; Deanna Munch of Aberdeen, SD, Dixie Garr of Belle Fourche, SD, Carol Crance of Mulbridge, SD, Ruth Madsen of Eugene, OR, and Carmen Doleman of Bellevue, WA, her sons; Anthony Imberi of Jefferson, MD, Timothy Imberi of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter Martha Brodie of Globe, AZ, along with six grand children and seven great-grand children.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at V.F.W. Post #1704 in Globe, Arizona.

Interment of Ashes will be held privately.
