Martha Ann Harmon

February 11, 1948 — September 2, 2021

Martha Ann Harmon was born February 11, 1948, to Elbert & Anna Rebekah Griffiths in Kanab, Utah. At the age of 5 she was in a fire accident that burned 80% of her body. She was in and out of hospitals all her life due to the fire with procedures such skin graphs and pins put in her fingers for mobility. Martha was married previously to Patrick Brockert and became a widow in October of 1973.  She was told she would never have children against all odds, on September 18, 1972 her first daughter was born Anna Maria. One Saturday night in January of 1974 she met Billy Lee Harmon they were married by the next Friday on January 18, 1974. In January 2021 they were married for 47 years. On December 18, 1974 and May 21, 1978 she was blessed again by daughters Dawn Keerie and Amber Lynn. Martha fought breast cancer and won the battle. Then she had a stroke and suffered with major side effects that reduced her ability to move around however her spirit was never deterred. She was then diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and she fought but she could not beat this one.  Martha made a promise to Billy that she would go wherever he went so the family has travelled and lived in Washington State, Utah, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. She retired with Billy and lived their dream by purchasing a RV and travelling the United States.

Martha’s greatest passion was her 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Anything that was going in their lives she was always present. Bill and Martha took grandkids on trips and visited places such as Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Red wood forest, Crator Lake, whale watching, Oregon & California coast, San Diego, Sea World, and Lego Land. She made a point to stay in touch directly with them and demanded hugs from them whenever they were in her presence.

Martha was a strong woman who unbeknownst to most humbly battled through life with determination and strength. She was protective of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was able to make any person feel loved and accepted. Martha loved her family endlessly.
