Marilyn Lou (Plummer) Halverson, 91, passed away on March 28, 2021 in Globe, Arizona, at home, surrounded by family. Marilyn was born on July 7, 1929, the daughter of Lenore (Gordon) and Lawrence Plummer in Wheaton, Illinois. She grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1947. Marilyn continued her education, graduating from the University of Minnesota, receiving her Dental Hygienist degree. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority since 1949. After marrying Reed W. Halverson in 1953, they lived briefly in Iowa, before moving to Arizona. After stops in Coolidge and Tucson, Marilyn and Reed moved to Globe in 1962, declaring they had found their true home. Marilyn and Reed raised two daughters together in Globe. While Reed continued to teach instrumental music, Marilyn supported his job by making and sewing vests for the junior high school band and making cheeseboats during fundraisers. She also spent time as a Medical Records Clerk at Gila General Hospital, as well as transcribing medical records for Drs. Jody Daggatt and Victoria Stevens from home. Marilyn enjoyed many other activities including fishing, yard work, camping, traveling in their motorhome, baking, and sewing. Marilyn was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind two daughters: Debbie (Dusty) Tinnin of Casa Grande, Arizona and Donna (Kat Harder) Gustafson of Globe, Arizona; three grandchildren: Dustin (Sarah) Tinnin, David (Carolyn) Tinnin, and Cyndi Clevenger; four great-grandchildren: Alyssa and Eliana Tinnin, Matthew and Braelynne Clevenger. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Reed, and her parents, Lenore and Lawrence Plummer. Per Marilyn’s request, there will be no formal services. A private graveside service will be held in the near future. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Arizona beside her beloved husband.
