Marianna Goseyun

Marianna was born on September 9th, 1945, she was delivered at home by her grandmas Byula and Lilly Steele who were midwives and healers of the community. Marianna’s parents where Louise and Frances (Swift) Jones of China Town formally known as Farmer Station. Marianna was an active child, very inquisitive and strong-willed. she attended Peridot Mission school until the 8th grade and as a teenager, she went to Stewart, Nevada to attend high school there and graduating in 1964. Upon her graduation, she returned to San Carlos and Shortly after she married Chris Phillips and started her family. They lived at the Tribal Farm home on Peridot Siding Rd for several years. In the early 70’s purchases their home at La Boba City (LBC) were she raised her children. Caroline Phillips El Ansary of Oregon, the Late Chris Phillips Jr. Velda Rose Phillips Salas, and Lloyde K. Jones Jr. In 1986 Marianna divorced Chris Phillips Sr. they went their separate ways. A few years later she met the Late David Dan Goseyun III, and they were Married. From this marriage Marianna and Dave adopted 2 handsome boys and 1 beautiful girl: Gary Allen Roger Jr., Kari Sue Rogers, and Avin Juno Gilbert. David had 3 beautiful daughters from a previous marriage that Marianna help raised: April Goseyun, Daphne Goseyun, and Amanda Goseyun. Marianna was a strong believer in her faith, In the beginning of her Christian journey, she attended Church of Jesus Christ along Peridot siding road. Which led her to the Miracle Church, where she attended for several years. Later in her journey she was led to World Evangelist Revival Center where she became active in church. Throughout Marianna’s life she was employed by several companies; she worked at Rice School in the cafeteria, At the Tribal Store as a cashier, At the tribe’s check point station going toward the San Carlos lake, at Circle K as a cashier in Phoenix, and finally At Forestry as a cook in Point of Pines, In 2004, Marianna had brain aneurysm and was unable to continue a normal life, it took her several years to relearn the basics of life in a rehab facility and had to have assistance to care for her. She returned to her residence, behind the San Carlos High School on Gas line rd. in Peridot. Marianna did not want to be a burden on her family, so she checked herself in to the elderly retirement home where she lived. Until she when home to heaven.
