Maria DeJesus Yanik, 91, of Top of the World, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was a beloved Wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Born in Nazas, Mexico, in 1933. She had a daughter named Patrica (Patti) in 1965. Maria moved to California in 1966 in search of new opportunities. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert Yanik. Their love was instant and undeniable, leading to a marriage on February 9, 1974. Soon after, Maria moved to Globe/Miami, Arizona, where she and Robert built a beautiful life together, raising their blended family, including Robert’s son, “Bobby.”

Maria dedicated many years to her work in housekeeping at the hospital in Globe before continuing at Heritage. In 1995, she retired to focus on what she cherished most—her family. She played an essential role in the lives of her three grandchildren, Adam, Brittany, and Jasmine, caring for them with unwavering love and devotion.

In her retirement, Maria found a new passion in quilting, quickly mastering the craft through classes at the Miami Senior Center. Her quilts became cherished gifts for family members, each stitch a symbol of her warmth and love. She was also known for her incredible Mexican cooking and baking, always ensuring fresh tortillas were ready whenever loved ones visited.

A devoted believer in Christ, Maria was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Globe, where she found strength in her faith. Her love for her family, never wavered. Above all, the love she shared with Bob was a beautiful testament to their enduring bond.

Maria’s life will be celebrated on April 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 196 E. Cedar St., Globe, Arizona. A luncheon will follow.
