Margaret Catherine Trowse was born August 23, 1930, to Rena Laura and Jordan David Smitch, in Clifton, Arizona. She went to her heavenly home, on February 8, 2022, in Globe, Arizona. Margaret is survived by her brother Jay Smitch, her sister Luetta Danforth, three children: Robert T. S. Trevillyan Jr. (Sandy), Michael B. Trevillyan (Diane) and Annie L. Zorn (Benjamin), seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton A. Trowse, her parents, brothers; David, Colin, and Kent, and sisters; Charlotte, Opal, Jettie and June.
Margaret moved to Globe, Arizona just before she started high school. This is where she met and married Robert T. S. Trevillyan Sr. They had three children, Robert Jr., Michael, and Annie. Margaret graduated from Globe High School in 1948. Margaret and Robert moved to California, where she attended El Camino College, studying business and commercial art. Later moving back to Globe, Margaret worked as a clerk at the justice court and was the Assistant City Magistrate.
In 1964, Margaret and Robert moved to Spokane, Washington. She went to work in the Spokane County Justice Court as a Justice Court Clerk and Robert eventually went back to Arizona to work. After some time, Margaret and Robert decided to go their separate ways. In 1968 Margaret went to work at the Coeur d’ Alenes Co., where she met and later married Clayton A. Trowse in October of 1969.
Margaret loved to learn and while living in Missoula, Montana she went back to school in 1973 at Missoula Community College, and then in 1974 having moved back to Washington, she took a real estate course at High-Line Community College, in Federal Way, Washington. Margaret moved back to Globe in July of 1991, to be closer to her family.
Margaret never sat idle, she loved to stay busy. She enjoyed playing the guitar. She played with The Old Time Fiddlers in Spokane and was even on the local PBS channel. One of the hobbies Margaret enjoyed the most was drawing and painting. She loved the outdoors and gardening, including her favorite rose bush. Although Margaret had many things she enjoyed doing, the thing she loved the most was to be with her family; her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, all of them. There was always music and laughter when the family was together. Everyone in Margaret’s family has at least one special memory that belongs to just them and her.
Margaret was very full of life; she would light up a room when she entered. She was loved by lots and will be missed by many.
