Mamie Lea Rothwell was born November 10th, 1931. She was born in the country in Calhoun County, Arkansas. She was a devout Christian that loved the Lord and committed her life to doing his work. She Was greeted at Heaven's gate not only by Jesus, her beloved husband of 68 years Rex Rothwell was there with opened arms on January 6th, 2025. What a joyous reunion that must have been. She is preceded in death by her husband Rex Rothwell her daughter Sharon Mayes, sister Carolyn McManus, parents Mattie Whistler and Ralph Gray. She is survived by her daughter Joy (Les) Heisler son Reggie (Cristella) Rothwell, sister Jean Reed, brother Norman Whistler. She had 6 grandsons Michael (Ana' Alicia) Hughey, Matthew Hughey, Ronnie (Carey) Rothwell, Rocky (Sydnee) Rothwell, Roy Mayes and Randy Mayes. She also had 11 great grandchildren Ali, Kayla, Matthew, Wyatt, Coltin, Lillian, Rocky Rex, Tristan, Bryson, Bailey and Ryan. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids so much and they all meant the world to her. She loved to go fishing as well as camping, cooking, baking most of all spending time in the White Mountains and being with her family and having family get togethers. She loved hosting the holidays boy would she put on a feast during the holidays. She was a seamstress and sewed many years for the public. She retired from Magma Copper Company with 25 years where she was a powerhouse operator. There will be a memorial service to honor her Saturday January 18 at 12:00 at Desert Community Fellowship Church in Tonto Basin, Arizona.
