Loretta Jean Carnell, age 89, of Claypool, AZ passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at her home in Claypool, AZ.
Loretta was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on May 23, 1932, to Cecil and Fern Witt.
She attended Miami High School and lived most of her life in the Globe-Miami-Claypool area.
Loretta found her one and only true love, Earl. You would always find them together with a book in hand and doing jigsaw puzzles together. There was always a puzzle on their board being worked on. They were married 69 years until his recent passing on March 13, 2022. They only spent 19 days apart before joining each other in eternity. They are truly an inseparable couple. She cherished her home with Earl because it’s the same house Loretta’s parents owned, and she grew up in as a child.
Loretta started her career in the Miami High School District as a secretary. Over the years she transferred to different schools within the district before retiring after 25 years.
In her earlier years Lorette always had a quilt in her frame, she was a very talented quilter and loved to make them for her family and friends. She won several ribbons at different fairs for her quality work. Loretta was also a huge Diamondbacks fan. She would stay up late watching their games on TV. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her
Those left to cherish Loretta’s memory include her daughter Deborah Carnell of Chandler, AZ her son Craig Carnell of Apache Junction, AZ, her son Gary Carnell of Chandler, AZ, five grandchildren: Kristen, Robin, Michael, Matt and Kailee and one great-grandchild Paisley.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
