Lewis Miller was born October 8, 1982, in San Carlos, Arizona to Marcella and Gerard Miller. He entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2021 at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona. He was 39 years old. Lewis attended San Carlos High School and graduated in May of 2001. After he graduated he worked for SWFF as a Wildlife Firefighter for two years. He then decided to proudly serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corp and left for boot camp in San Diego, California. He became a crewman for the Assault Amphibian Battalion. An armored vehicle that was capable of operations both on land and sea. He was deployed to Japan and served months overseas. He did a tour of duty in Iraq with the 3rd Marine Division, enduring months in the desert. During his time in the service he was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Meritious Unit Commendation, letters of appreciation and a Marksman Rifle Badge. In 2007. After years of service his Military career came to an end. He came home to San Carlos and attended Eastern Arizona College for a few years, earning himself 61 college credits. After deciding to not continue his schooling he enjoyed life for a few years before getting a job with Forestry as a tree thinner. Working and camping in the vast wilderness. Lewis had a strong personality, he was considered tough and mean but those of us who knew him best knew underneath that rough exterior was a caring and loving person who had a sense of humor, always telling funny stories and jokes, bringing smiles to those around him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to music, being outdoors, fishing, camping, off roading in the mountains and forests. He was a huge fan of the New Orleans Saints and enjoyed watching and cheering for them every season. He even got a chance to see them play at the superdome foe his 38th birthday. A memory he cherished. Lewis will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his Band of Brothers. “Goodbyes are not Forever Goodbyes are not the end They simply mean I’ll miss you, Until we meet again” He was survived by: His mother Marcella Doreen (Johnson), his Father Gerard Miller, his siblings Lemuel Dillon, Gerard Miller and Vanessa Miller. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 8:00 A.M. at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Carlos, Arizona. Rosary will start at 9:30 A.M. at the church. Funeral Services will start at 10:00 A.M. at St. Charles Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Carlos Veterans Cemetery in San Carlos, Arizona.
