Larry Wayne "Coach" Anthony

Larry Wayne Anthony, 78, passed away at home Sunday April 3, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on January 15, 1944, in Satanta, KS to Maude Ellen Wright and Elwin Everitt Anthony. Larry graduated from Satanta High School in 1962. He continued his education at Fort Hays State University where he graduated in 1969 with a Masters in Zoology.

Larry started his career in Miami, AZ in 1969 as a Miami High School biology teacher and coach. Larry taught and coached in Miami for over 35 years. Larry continued to share his passion for sports not only through coaching but through activities with Miami YMCA and other organizations where he hosted numerous sport clinic’s.

Larry was a man of faith who loved attending church and reading his bible.

On August 30, 1980, Larry married Angela Alvarado in Miami, AZ. Larry was a man of family, and he may have also been known as a bit of a practical joker. He could always make you smile with a joke or a story.

Larry is survived by his wife, Angela Anthony. His children, Tammy Anthony and partner Terry Robinson of Modesto, CA; Tracy Ridge (Anthony) and Husband Mike of Chandler, AZ; Larry T. Anthony and his wife Joy of Cave Creek, AZ; Dustin Anthony of Omaha, NE; Danielle Toumberlin (Anthony) and husband Russell of San Tan, AZ.

Grandchildren are Korey Ridge and wife Devin of Flagstaff, AZ; Kylie Ridge of Chandler, AZ; Mackenzie Anthony, Landon Anthony, Paige Anthony, Hunter Anthony, Tylee Anthony, of Cave Creek, AZ; Payton Toumberlin of San Tan, AZ; Bradleigh Anthony, Phoenix Anthony (coming in May), of Omaha, NE.

Great grandchild Kinsley Ridge of Flagstaff, AZ.

He was preceded in death by parents Elwin and Maude Anthony; Brothers Loy Anthony and Gary Anthony; sister Wynola Osbon (Anthony).
