JOYCE "SISSY" JANELL WHEELER

Joyce “Sissy” Wheeler January 7, 1946 – March 8, 2025. 

Joyce “Sissy” Wheeler, 79, of Globe, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 7, 1946, to Cecil and Leona Wheeler, Joyce was a 1964 graduate of Globe High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Jackson, on June 5, 1964, and together they shared many happy years together. Joyce was a proud mother, grandmother, and friend, always putting family first. She worked for 30 years at Globe Safeway and later as a special education aide at Globe High School, touching countless lives with her kindness and patience. Her greatest joy was her family, and she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: being outdoors, hunting, bowling, baking cookies and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Nolan) Grimes and Jodi (Alan) Jones; brother, Billie Wheeler and Eldon Wheeler; grandchildren, Jeremy Maggard, Amanda Duncan, George Grimes, Molly Grimes, Brooklyn (Cole) Baer, Bradley Bershad; and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Cecil, Leona, Eddie and Pat Wheeler. Joyce’s love and light will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was pure sunshine.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10th, at 3:30pm at American Legion in Globe, Arizona.
