Joyce Faye Benally

Joyce Faye “Sister Faye” Benally age 71 of San Carlos, Arizona passed away on April 20, 2020 at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe, Arizona. She was born in San Carlos, Arizona on December 30, 1948. She was the daughter of Roselyn (Newman) and Mike Hoffman. She attended Rice Elementary School, San Carlos Junior High and Globe High School, graduating in 1967. She worked as a counselor at Globe High School and taught Apache while she was there. She worked at San Carlos Indian Hospital as a public health nurse. She moved into the Ministry after she retired from the school. She ran the Children’s Church during the summer at San Carlos Miracle Church and was very active in many rolls in the church. Joyce is survived by her mother Roselyn of San Carlos and her father Mike of Escondido, California, her husband Wilbur K. Benally Sr. of San Carlos, her children Tia Benally-Jordan (Bucky) of Peridot, Alejandro Rey Benally Sr. (Nanla) of Bylas, Wilber Benally Jr. (Tanya) of San Carlos, Verdell Hoffman (Tina) of San Carlos, her siblings Anthony Phillips of Peridot, Ronald Bates of Cutter, Vonda Phillips of Peridot, Ferino Phillips of San Carlos, 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, Arizona. Graveside Services will be on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in San Carlos Cemetery, Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
