JOSEPHINE JOHNSON

February 24, 1945 — March 12, 2025

Josephine Boni Johnson was born on February 24, 1945, in San Carlos Az by Violet Kindelay and Sam Boni Sr. When she was a little girl, she was funny, always laughing and dancing around. Also teaching her friends to dance along with her. She attended Fort Apache Indian school then went to Saint John’s Indian school in Laveen Az. After she was done with school she went on and started her family with Asa Logan jr, they had 5 kids. Around 1975 she met her late husband Eric Johnson Sr. Between the both of them they had 11 children. In 1986 they adopted Chantelle Johnson who became the center of attention for them.

Josephine was also a survivor of 3 opens heart surgeries, 2 major heart procedures, and a brain aneurysm. Despite what she went through medically, she loved traveling to sing at many churches, revivals and camp meetings. In later years she took pride in taking care of her grandchildren. She heavily influenced Christianity onto her grandchildren’s lives by singing her gospel music at home and having them attend church with her.

Her survivors include her 2 brothers Micheal Boni Sr., Clinton Boni Sr. Her children Dennis Logan Sr., Pecita Logan, Chantelle Johnson, Robert Johnson, Eric Johnson jr. Emmett Johnson, and Beverly Johnson. And her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Josephine will be joining her late husband Eric Johnson Sr. Children Pernell Logan, Augustine Logan, Ava Logan, and Kathy Johnson. And her 2 granddaughters miracle and blessing Chapman. Now you’re finally walking the streets of gold like you always told us.
