Jose (Mondo) Armando Rodriguez Obituary It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jose (Mondo) Armando Rodriguez, 81, announces his passing in Globe, Arizona on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Mondo was born in Globe, Arizona on June 17, 1943, and attended Globe High School prior to joining the Navy in 1960 and discharged honorably in 1966. Mondo returned to Globe and went to work for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company and after mergers and acquisitions retired from Freeport-McMoRan 36 years later. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 518 and spent most of his career as an electrician. Mondo was also a member of the Globe Miami Elks Lodge #489 and for many years cooked the steaks for the Friday night dinners. He was also active in many other events around the community and would lend a hand to anyone who asked. Mondo married Yvonne Marie Daou, and they had one son Shaya Mondo Rodriguez. They spent the next 54 years together until her death in 2022. Mondo was a devoted father and husband. Mondo leaves behind his son Shaya Rodriguez as well as brothers Tommy, Louie, David and his sisters Frieda and Martha Rodriguez. Mondo was proceeded in death by his wife Yvonne Rodriguez, Mother Piedad B. (Peggy) Rodriguez and Father Federico E. (Fred) Rodriguez. He will be missed by all.
