Jimmie Ross Woods

Celebration of Life Services for Jimmie Woods are planned for 11:07 am, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at High Desert Middle School, Globe, Arizona.

Jimmie was born in Celina, Texas on March 24, 1934, and he entered heaven’s gates May 21, 2022.  He was born to Grady Ross and Mary Ina and was the youngest of their three sons.  This hardworking family owned and operated their family farm and ran a store in the local area.  They were fiercely proud and loved above all.

In 1951, at the age of 16, Jimmie met his beloved soul mate, Gladys.  They met at a basketball tournament and for 67 years never once agreed on who stole whose shoes.  However, they knew they were meant to hold each other’s hands for the rest of their lives and were married June 21, 1953.  Jimmie and Gladys moved to Arizona in 1967, continuing an amazing legacy of service that spanned over 70 years.

Jimmie Woods pastored in numerous churches around the country and created a Prayer Partners Network that reached over 9 countries and in excess of 10,000 people.  He recorded sermons for various local radio stations and served as a Mediator/Counselor for 4 different counties in Arizona.  He was a lifelong student and loved studying each day.  Whether it was the gospel, history, politics, sports…. he loved to learn; proven by his numerous degrees including a Ph.D.

Jimmie held many positions and titles throughout his life.  Husband, Daddy, Papa, Friend, Doctor, Mediator, Counselor, Newspaper Editor and Pastor among others.  His greatest and most treasured title was that of Christian.  He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with everything he was, and his desire would be for everyone to have a relationship with God.

Jimmie was the Daddy of six children; Lorie (Alan) Lott of Globe, Becky (Shane) Tillberry of Phoenix, Andy who preceded him in death, David (Casey) of Missouri, Nanette Quam of Globe, and Renee (Jeff) Rode of Florence; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Flowers may be sent to, and arrangements are under the direction of Lamont Mortuary, Globe.
