Helen Genevieve Ybarra

Helen Gene Ybarra, 87 of Mesa, went peacefully to Heaven on March 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on March 2, 1936, to Albert & Soyla Rivera in Globe. Helen met the love of her life, Manuel Ybarra, and they were married for 46 years, and had five beautiful children. She is survived by her 3 sons of Globe, Manuel Ybarra (Cindy), Albert Ybarra, David Ybarra and one daughter Liz Atilano (Art) of Mesa, along with 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Helen spent her earlier years helping with the family business The Royal Cleaners. She later went to work for First Interstate Bank and made her way up to Branch Manager before her retirement.

Helen was an avid bowler and she loved going to the casino every opportunity she got. Helen also loved to play cards with her fellow bowling friends (known as the card party every Tuesday with food and dessert). Helen was big on holiday traditions such as making tamales at Christmas and having many lights on the Christmas tree. Helen loved to travel and took every opportunity to go on family vacations and her bowling tournaments. Mostly she loved spending time with her family and watching all her grandchildren grow up.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Ybarra, her parents Albert and Soyla Rivera, her brother Albert Rivera Jr, her daughter Teresa Tarango, and her granddaughter Melissa Tarango. Helen will always be part of our lives and will forever be missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Holy Angels Catholic Church from 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.

Rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Holy Angels Catholic Church from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will follow at Globe Cemetery in Globe, Arizona.
