Helen Garcia, age 90, a life-long resident of Miami, AZ, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Haven of Globe, surrounded by her family. Helen was born on January 23, 1929, to Daniel and Maria Garcia. Helen was a beautiful posed woman and graduated from Miami High School. Shortly after graduation, she started to work for Dr. Charles Collopy as a nanny. When the Collopy family left the area, she started to work for the Miami Inspiration Hospital and continued to work for the hospital when the name changed to Cobre Valley Hospital. Helen retired after 35 years of service. Helen loved baking and cooking for the holidays, watching classic movies and her novelas. Helen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Helen is preceded in death by her mother Maria Medrano, her father Daniel Garcia, sisters Encarnacian “Chonita” Garcia, Rita Maeda, her brothers Frankie Medrano, Joe Y. Garcia and Elias Y. Garcia (Rachel). She is survived by her sisters, Emily Licano (Paul), Jo Medrano, Betty Ramirez of Miami, Lupe Corn of Globe, Mary Fierro of Mesa, Nettie Medrano of Claypool, her brother Pat Medrano (Helen) of Globe, and numerous nieces and nephews. A mass will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami, AZ on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 10:00 A.M.
