Geraldine Van Cleve

April 19, 1930 — August 17, 2018

Mrs. Geraldine (Geri) Van Cleve passed away at Haven of Globe on August 17, 2018 at the age of 88.             She was a native of Globe and lived most of her life on Walliman Rd. where she was born. When she was a baby the family left Globe to follow the road camp where her Dad had gotten work building Route 66 between Ashfork and Williams. Later the family moved to Nevada where her Dad worked on boulder Dam. The family then returned to Globe where she attended school and graduated from Globe High School in 1948. After graduation she attended Beauty School in Phoenix and later owned her own shop. On April 26th 1949 she married the love of her life Paul Van Cleve, they built a house next door to her parents where they raised their three children. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary, The Rebekahs and The Odd Fellows. She volunteered for many years at the Globe Food Bank and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Miami, AZ. Preceded in death by her husband Paul Van Cleve, her parents Elmer and Jessie (Bradford) Rose and her brothers Harvey Rose and Tom Rose. Geraldine is survived by her three children; Tim Van Cleve, (Nancy) of Hanlontown, IA, Lon Van Cleve (Cheryl) of Miami, AZ, and Paula Powell (Scott) of Globe, AZ, nine grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, seven Great-Great Grandchildren with another one on the way, and many nieces and nephews. The family is request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her name. Graveside services will be Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami. A reception will follow at the VFW Hall in Globe.
