George "Chico" Starr, Jr.

George “Chico” Starr Jr. made his journey into Heaven on August 29, 2024, in Globe, Arizona. George was born on January 16, 1941, to George Starr Sr. and Edith Colelay-Starr in Whiteriver, Arizona.

In his earlier years, George was a Ranch Hand, and he also held many titles as a construction worker. George loved to read his Bible and often wrote down his favorite Bible verses, he also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and working on crossword puzzles.

George is survived by his two daughters, Serena Lavender and Georgie Preston, his 8 grandchildren, his 10 great-grandchildren, and his 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends who will miss him dearly.

George is preceded in death by his father, George Starr Sr.; his mother, Edith Colelay-Starr; his sisters, Lenora Robertson, Carmelita Goseyun, and Geraldine Chatlin; his brothers, Leo Starr, Abel Starr, and Michael Starr; and his two sons, Darrell Starr and Terrill Starr.

A one-day memorial service will be held on September 6, 2024. Early viewing service will begin at 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am at the Open Bible Lutheran Church in Whiteriver, Arizona. Interment will follow at the Golden Gorge View Cemetery in Whiteriver, Arizona.

There will also be an additional viewing service on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lamont Mortuary in Globe, Arizona.
