It is with heavy hearts, we must say farewell to Freeda Mae Lowe, 80, who passed away on July 22, 2023. Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, and friend to many will be missed. Freeda waited 15 years to be reunited with her husband Richard (Dick) Lowe.
Freeda was born on June 9, 1943, to Verlie Grable and Oscar Grable Jr. in Boulder City, Nevada.
Freeda is survived by her children Richard DeBord (Kim DeBord), Brenda DeBord, Randy WeBorg (Sonda WeBorg), Catalina Gutierrez, Vera Miller, and Wilfred Gutierrez II (Jessica Shields); as well as her stepchild with Dick Lowe, Richard (Rick) Lowe (Dee Lowe). Freeda leaves behind her faithful companion and protector, her dog, Marley (wiggle-butt). Freeda was a loving grandmother to Amber DeBord, Sherry DeBord, Yossa Mam, Soria Mam, Kammee Mam, Christopher Harris, Brandyn WeBorg, Jaelyn WeBorg, Zachary Leddy, Selenia Leddy, Derick Gutierrez, Angela Lowe, and Nicholas Lowe. Freeda joins her granddaughter Melody Miller in heaven. Freeda has 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Freeda is preceded in death by her husband and parents aforementioned, her sister, Carolyn Turk, and brother, Jim Grable.
Freeda began her life in the Pacific northwest, Washington state, lived all over the U.S., and settled in Phoenix, Arizona in 1982. Freeda was one of the friendliest people ever, the saying “never met a stranger” fits her exactly. She loved doing charity work as an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. After her husband’s passing, she spent time comforting recent widows. Freeda was an excellent and sought-after dance partner. She loved licorice, both red and black. Freeda loved nature, camping, and was very active going to the gym and hiking. She loved traveling and went all over the U.S. with her family. Freeda retired from Hi Tech forming as a toolmaker and machinist. She revered the work of Rosie the Riveter and always said women could do any job they desire. She was a talented worker, often promoted to supervisor. In retirement, Freeda kept busy with part time jobs and volunteering at Pure Heart food pantry.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Freeda on 09/16/23 at Fraternal Order of Eagles, Deer Valley at 12:00 PM.
