Fernando Vincent Machukay, age 72, of San Carlos, AZ passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2012 at Haven Healthcare Center in Globe, AZ. He was born in San Carlos, AZ on January 18, 1949 the son of Louis and Martha (Miller) Machukay. He attended St. Johns Elementary School in Phoenix, Globe High School and graduated from Easter Arizona College with a business degree. He had worked as a custodian for San Carlos Post Office and as a Deputy for Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a bilingual teacher at Rice School teaching the Apache language. Fernando was a quiet man who kept to himself. He enjoyed writing. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army doing a tour in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campain Metdal among others. Preceded in death by both his parents Louis and Martha Machukay. Fernando is survived by his sisters; Veronica Cudue and Dorothy Yelloweyes both from San Carlos, AZ Wake will be on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Carlos, AZ Rosary will be on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. Follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery/Mormon Hill in San Carlos, AZ.
