Eugene M. Porto

Eugene Montez Porto (GG), age 81, passed away February 20th, 2020. He was born in Miami, AZ on January 5, 1939. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, father-in-law and to most he was a wonderful friend. There wasn’t a person that he every crossed passed paths with that he didn’t know or know someone of their family. Eugene joined the United States Air Force on January 8th, 1957. He then had his first daughter, Cheryl Ann Mendoza on June 28, 1957. Gene met the love of his life Madolina Flores (Porto) on a bus in Tucson, AZ. They married on May 20th 1967 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. They had their first son Eugene Porto III on October 24, 1968. Soon after they had their son Robert Porto August 19, 1969. Then, their daughter Claudia Bertoldo on September 25, 1972, and their third son John Porto, July 15th 1977. Gene and his wife then adopted their two grandchildren Christopher Porto and Chandra Porto in August of 1998, and raised them as their very own. He became a barber in October of 1963 and also worked for many years at Inspiration Mine. He loved being an active member of the community. He loved all his children, grand- children and great children. Gene’s family meant the world to him, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Please remember GG and how he impacted your life and cherish those memories! He is now reunited with his parents, his sister Irene Lozano, and his brother Ricky Canizales in the arms of Jesus! He was preceded by his parents Eugene and Gregoria Porto, his sister Irene Lozano and his brother-in-law Joe, and his brother Richard Canizales. Eugene in survived by his wife Madolina Porto, his children; Claudia Bertoldo, Cheryl Mendoza (Edward), Gene Porto (Kate), Chandra Porto, (Ronnie), Christopher Porto (Crystal), John Porto (Lola) Robert Porto, his siblings: Paul Porto, Letty Pintos and Ruben Norman, 12 grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. SERVICES AT OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH IN MIAMI . VIEWING WILL BE 8:00AM Saturday FEBRUARY 29,2020, THE ROSARY AT 8:30 WITH MASS BEING SAID AT 9:00AM. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW AT THE GLOBE CEMETERY. LAMONT MORTUARY OF GLOBE
