Esperanza Denogean

November 9, 1933 — January 23, 2022

Esperanza Gomez Frias Denogean, a resident of Superior, Arizona passed away on January

23, 2022. She was born in Nochistian, Zacatecas, Mexico on November 9, 1933 to father,

Raymundo Frias and mother, Belen Gomez who predeceased her. She was also preceded in

death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Denogean, her children Arthur and Lillian, and her

grandson, John.

She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and became a U.S. citizen in 1965.

She grew up in a large, loving family with 5 brothers and 4 sisters all who have predeceased

her. She is survived by her children; Diana Crespin (Fred), Edward Denogean (Lupita),

Louis Denogean (Debra) Mary Helen Burchett (Floyd) and Isabel Sarabia. She is also survived

by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Esperanza and her husband were also foster parents for over 30 years. They helped raised

over 100 children.

Esperanza grew up on her family's large ranch near the town of La Palma, Sinaloa, Mexico.

She enjoyed riding horses and helping tend to the livestock and other animals. She also

helped her father harvest the crops on the 100 acre ranch.

She was a driven woman with an unmatched work ethic. She had several jobs during her

lifetime. When she moved to Superior she worked as a cook & waitress at the Triple XXX.

Her other jobs were; a cashier at the Circle K, a crusher operator at the Christmas Mine.

Correctional Officer at the Arizona State Prison and a foster parent.

She also owned several restaurants. In 2012, her restaurant "Casa Denogean" was

featured on the television program Arizona Highways. She retired at the age of 80 when she

started developing Alzheimer’s. She was very generous and helped anyone that was in need

of food, shelter, money or anything else.

The family wishes to thank Thema & Aviant Hospice for their devoted care.

They especially want to thank the Doctors, Nurses, CNA's, Techs and staff at Cobre Valley

Hospital for their exceptional, constant, loving and attentive care

Visitation to be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Lamont Mortuary of Globe Chapel.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 490 Main Street, Superior, Arizona.

The rosary will begin at 9:30 A.M.

Holy Mass will immediately follow at 10:00 A.M.

Intermen t will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Superior, AZ

Officiant- Father Samuel Jandeh.

Masks are required at all times in the church .
A luncheon will be held at the Magma Club after the interment.
