Dorothy Mae Spry age 99 of Globe, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Globe, Arizona. She was the daughter of Mollie (Freauff) and Jacob Nuse. She was born in Mead, Colorado but grew up in St. Ignatius, Montana. She worked as the Cafeteria Manager for the Miami Public Schools. Dorothy was very proud of her German heritage. She was known to recite the German phrase for “This is Delicious” whenever she was eating something good. She grew up in a family with ten kids. There were six girls and four boys. They all worked on their father’s sugar beet farm and the girls worked the fields just as hard as the boys did. She married the love of her life Lee Spry in 1938. After they moved to Arizona they spent many moons camping and fishing at the lake. They also went deep sea fishing in Rocky Point. Dorothy loved riding in fast boats with her great grandson Mark. They instilled a love of camping and lake activities with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Mollie and Jacob Nuse and most of her siblings, her husband Lee Spry , her son Ronald Spry, her daughter in law Karen Spry and her great-granddaughter Alyssa Chism. She is survived by her daughter Carol Chism of Globe, Arizona, her sister Edna Wagner of Hilger, Montana, her brother Jim Nuse of Vista, California, six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Visitation was on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, Arizona. Graveside Services were held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Arizona.
