DOROTHY ELLEN RAY

Dorothy Ellen Ray passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Globe, Arizona on March 10, 2025. She was born in Fresno, California on September 2, 1934. She grew up in Globe attending Globe Public Schools. Most of her adult career was in the health/caregiver profession with her first job as a Nurse’s Aide at the old Gila General Hospital. She also worked nine years at Inspiration Copper Mine. She dedicated her time to her family, raising twin sons and watching all her grandchildren grow up.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Thomas Strickland (Kris) of Claypool, Arizona and Donald Strickland of Aurora, Colorado, her sister Jacqueline Faulkner (David), her grandchildren, Brent Strickland (Heather) of North Pole, Alaska, Aaron Strickland (Bree) of Surprise, Arizona, Jodee Jones (Dan) of Hawaii, and Tammy Hibbitt (Geoff) of Glendale, Arizona, seven great grandsons, three great- granddaughters and two great-great grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband David Ray, her parents John and Marjorie Cosgrove and her younger sister Laura Jean Cosgrove.

A special thank you to the nurses at Billett Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. The family of Dorothy Ray truly appreciated all of you.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, Arizona.

Interment will follow at Globe Cemetery.
