Donna Benally

Donna Kay Benally passed away on May 9, 2021 as a result of a short illness. Her family was by her side when she drifted off to be with the Lord. She was born to the late Geraldine (Talgo) Benally and the late Philson Benally, Sr. of San Carlos on August 12, 1976. Donna attended East Fork Lutheran and San Carlos high school. She earned credits toward an Associate's Degree in Business at Eastern Arizona College. She was an ardent seasonal and Full-Time staff in the Wildland Fire Business at San Carlos Forestry. Donna was an avid reader. Her favorite authors included Danielle Steel and Suzanne Collins. She fancied the illuminous descriptions in The Great Gasby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Donna enjoyed watching classic 1980s movies and often engaged in movie trivia with anyone who would challenge her. Family and friends recall her greatest asset to be her beautiful smile, glittery personality, and unique laughter. She loved seeing new places and meeting new people. Her favorite pastime was enjoying the company of relatives and friends whether at family gatherings or local events. Donna is survived by her son, Isaiah James Wesley; Her brother and his wife, Philson Benally, Jr./Rose (Cheney) Benally of Morenci, Arizona. She also leaves her Aunt and Uncle Gloria (Pechuli)/Gary Smith of Farmington, New Mexico, Lorraine Rodriguez of Bylas, Arizona, Matilda Joyce (Benally) Johnson, Wilbur Kay Benally Sr., Daniel Benally Sr., Bradley (Timmy) Benally Sr. of San Carlos, Arizona and Rachel Benally of Goodyear, Arizona, including several more aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Her late maternal grandparents were Rosalie (Pechuli) and Earl Talgo. Her late paternal grandparents were Loretta and Kee Benally Sr.; Her late uncles are Elmer Benally, Ryan Benally, Lambert (TomCat) Benally and Kee (Budda Jun) Benally Jr. A Wake will be held on Saturday, May 15 - 4:00 P.M. at the Benally Residence in San Carlos, Arizona. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 16 - 2:00 P.M. at Burdette Hall in San Carlos, Arizona. Interment will follow in San Carlos Cemetery, Mormon Hill Rd, San Carlos, Arizona.
