Charles Edwin Brandon

Charles "Chuck" Brandon was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Everett Brandon and Pearl Phillips. His family moved to Miami when he was a few months old. He began elementary school there and later transferred to Globe. While attending Globe High School, he participated in track, baseball, football, and basketball. He was a member of the state championship football and basketball teams his senior year. During his high school years Chuck worked for J. C. Penny's and had a milk route in San Carlos. Upon graduation, he attended Palo Verde Community College in California on a football scholarship. After one semester, he transferred to NAU. He joined the Army in 1959 and served for three years. After the Army, Chuck returned to Globe and began working at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company as a member of the track gang. He was promoted to the survey crew due to his previous experience. Chuck worked hard and was promoted to Drill and Blasting Foreman. He then moved up to General Foreman. After more than 35 years in the mining industry, Chuck ended his mining career as Mine Superintendent at Cyprus taking an early retirement. He then became a partner with Jalin Enterprises. Chuck was a lifetime member of the Elk's Club. He was also a member of the American Legion, and belonged to the SME (Society of Mining Engineers). He was an avid sportsman playing basketball in the City League, softball for the Elks' and the local men's leagues. He donated to the Globe High School's Cross Country and Wrestling teams, making numerous other community-wide anonymous donations. Chuck was married to Lynette Rogers for sixty years. They loved to travel to other countries and spent many weekends in Greer throughout their marriage. Chuck was an avid reader enjoying numerous genres. His library contains approximately 2,500 volumes. Chuck always looked forward to meeting his buddies every Wednesday at the "Bench"; and his monthly breakfasts with his former co-workers. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Harry Brandon, and Wayne Brandon, and his sister; Agnes Clark. He is survived by his wife Lynette, his daughters; Cyndi Redondo of Globe and Brandi Brandon of Phoenix, and his son-in-law; Tony Redondo. He has three wonderful grandsons; Ryan Redondo, Matthew (Karie) Redondo, Taylor Armijo, and a beautiful great-granddaughter; Taylah Redondo. He is also survived by two brothers; Bill Brandon of Globe and Riley Brandon of Lakeside, and his sister-in-law; Margie Brandon of Miami, and numerous nieces and nephews.
