Caroline Patten

Caroline Patten, age 56, of San Carlos, AZ, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at San Carlos Apache Healthcare in Peridot, AZ. Caroline was born on March 12, 1966, in San Carlos, Az to Thomas & Louise (Phillips) Goode. Caroline was the youngest of 8 children and was a lifelong resident of San Carlos. Caroline grew up in Seven Mile, she loved wearing her red boots and belt buckle, she liked to ride horses, play at the wash. She would always be hanging out with her brothers and grew to be a tough tom-boy. With all her brothers and sisters, she would hunt packrats and rabbits. She would also go fishing and swimming as much as she could. Caroline grew up and became known to many including her family as "pump".

Caroline attended Rice School from Kindergarten to Eight grade, she went on to attend Prescott High School and Globe High School. Later in life she married Anthony Bush Sr. and she had three children, Antoinette, Andrew, and Amos Joe. Being a full-time mom and housewife, she still maintained some employment. As a custodian working at Phillips Dodge Mine in Miami, Az., a housekeeper at Days Inn, Globe, Az, and a Camp Crew member under the San Carlos Forestry, And a Caretaker under the Soaring Eagles program. Throughout her life Caroline grew up in the Church and became a member of San Carlos Miracle Church. Where she became a Sunday School Teacher. She would help with any Church functions and always make her way to the Seneca camp meeting. Until her health would get her too tired for her to go anywhere.

Caroline also loved having cookouts, birthday parties or just a family gathering. She loved arts and crafts with her grandchildren, teaching them about God, how to pray, and to always trust in God. Anytime her grandchildren ask to spend a night at her house her immediate response was always YES and would stay up all night with them because she didn't want them to be awake by themselves and be tired the next morning while making breakfast. Caroline would always call and check-up on her brothers and sister, she would always ask “are you sitting at home”, “I'm sitting outside", or she would say “come over so we can sit outside". She would always bring her brothers and sisters together to catch-up on their lives. Caroline had a big Faith and continued to tell everyone about her love for God.

Caroline Patten leaves behind her husband Darrell Patten Sr., three children Antoinette (Chris) Thompson, Andrew (Lorinda Hopkins) Bush, Amos Joe (Angel Newman) Bush. and 10 grandchildren, oldest to youngest Andrew Bush Jr., Elijah Thompson, Ashton Bush, Alaiyah Bush, Ethan Thompson, Ashauntie Bush, Aiden Newman, Abigail Bush, Ambre Bush, Amyes Bush and great granddaughter Bakari Bush. one Sister Charlotte Goode, and four brothers Keith Goode (Bernadette) Goode, Harold Goode, Mark (Loren) Goode, Theodore-Downie-Goode she is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Louis Goode. Her late husband Anthony Bush Sr. and two brothers Ramsey Goode and Joseph Padro (Go-Man) Goode.
