Aj Mckee

January 1, 1937 — August 29, 2022

AJ Mc Kee was born to Arnold and Lovie Mc Kee in Vina, Alabama on January 1, 1937. He passed away on August 29, 2022 at the age of 85.

He proudly and bravely served his country for 22 years in the Air Force as a master mechanic and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He then went on to work for 20 plus years with the Southern Pacific Railroad also as a master mechanic.

AJ enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and having his family gather at his home in Arizona. He knew how to throw a party because his birthday was January 1! He even ran a little moonshine back in the day. The last few years he really enjoyed going to the casino. He liked working with leather making belts, wallets, purses, etc. He also loved rocks and gems, making rings and necklaces and even taught Tracy how to do the same.

Tracy wants to share this; "My dad was the calmest most patient man I have ever known. He never had a mean or nasty thing to say about anyone. This year would have been my parents 65th wedding anniversary. He is a 'true to the bone' small town Southern boy born and raised in the backwoods of Alabama who loved his black-eyed peas and cornbread."

Gary wants to share this; "My Father. My Friend. My hero. I am proud to be your son. You were always an amazing man. You always went above and beyond to help anyone who needed your skills. It is because of you that I became the man I am today. And for that I thank you. You will forever be missed Dad. I love you."

AJ is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, and his son David.

He leaves behind his two children Tracy (David) Kivett and Gary McKee, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
