Mary Sue Bendle was born on February 3, 1965 in Superior Arizona. She is the daughter of the late Hugh Bendle Sr. and the late Jonell Bendle. Mary Sue Bendle is survived by two children: Anthony Duane Jr. and Jessica Haozous; five grandchildren, Adrianna, Matthew, Amare, Anthony, and Olivia; one brother, Vernon Bendle; three sisters, Joan Bendle, Darlene Vinarskai, Velva Walker, and Eileen Hosay. Mary Sue grew up in Superior and then moved to San Carlos where she attended Globe high school. Mary attended Eastern Arizona College and received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Mary then went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Prescott College and her Master’s of Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. She worked for the San Carlos Apache Tribe and help developed the Tribal Child Care Program and also held the position of Head Start Director for several years. She also volunteered as a First Things First Regional Partnership Council Member. Mary’s last position with the San Carlos Apache Tribe was as a Grant Writer under the General Managers Officer. Mary was a kind and outgoing person with an ability to tell stores and make people laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and enjoyed coordinating family get togethers and reading Christian books. Mary was a devoted Christian and true child of God. She read God’s word night and day and also enjoyed doing God’s work by sharing His message with her family and friends. She is now with her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. We are happy for her but she will be GREATLY missed. “You were the BEST Mom, Grandma, and Sister. We LOVE you SO MUCH!
