William “Bill” Kent Sr. passed away on November 7th at Haven Care and is now free to join his wife and love of his life of 70 years in a restful place. Bill was born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 23, 1926 to parents Fred and Marcia Kent and was the youngest of 5 children. He attended North High in Phoenix, Arizona and as war was breaking he decided to join the US Navy. He served aboard the USS Brule as an electrician which, would serve him well when he returned to civilian life. He first joined Western Electric as an electrician in Phoenix, and then moved to Globe, AZ with the company. The move proved fruitful for him as he met the girl of his dream, the former Betty Heyl. They eventually married and had 4 children, Karen Reves of Globe, William Jr of Phoenix, Edwin of Frazier Park, Cal and Fred of Riverside, Cal. During this time he joined with Sears, Roebuck & Co as the service manager, eventually retiring in the early 90s. Bill was a community activists as he served as president/ board member of Globe Chamber of Commerce, Globe Babe Ruth League, American Legion, Globe Bi-Centennial, Globe Water District and Saint Paul Methodist Church. He is survived by his children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be privately held by the family.
