George Harris

George William Harris was born to Hattie and Albert Senda Harris on February 26, 1954 at Gila General Hospital in Globe, Arizona. As a young boy, the family moved from city to city along the train route of Southern Pacific Railroad due to his father, Albert’s employment with Southern Pacific Railroad. He attended San Carlos Day School, now known as San Carlos Unified School District, grades Kindergarten thru 4th grade. He attended the 5th and 6th grades at Central School in Globe, Globe Junior High and Globe High School where he met Ruth Ann. George and Ruth Ann fell in love and married in 1973. Ruth Ann gave birth to their daughter, Natasha Faye in June of 1974. During his high school years, George was very athletic participating in football, basketball and rodeos. George organized a young men’s basketball teams as well as a co-ed softball team. Upon graduation, George was employed as a seasonal firefighter. He later found employment as a Police Officer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Kramer & Sons Construction Company, Security Guard at San Carlos Lake store and Pinto Valley Mine and a truck driver at Phelps Dodge Mine in Morenci, Arizona. In 2004 George found Christ and started his walk with Christ and began attending the San Carlos Miracle Church. George married Janice Dean Palmer on November 11, 2006. Together they parented 7 God Children through church. Their God children are Deshane, Isaiah, Niznoni, Lindsey Begay, Kaiser Steele, Nicole Elgo and Keisha Cheney George was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hattie Harris, brothers, Leroy, Hugh, Harvey and Albert Harris, Jr., Sisters Janice, Delores and baby girl Harris. He is survived by his wife, Janice, sister Lorraine Harris Gonnie, daughter Natasha Faye Harris step daughters, Jennifer and Rhonda Palmer, four grandsons William, Joseph, Ricardo and Isaiah Polk, three great grandchildren Aalayah, Amari, and Olivia. Numerous friends, family and extended relatives. Wake will be on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at the Harris’s residence on White Mountain Avenue in San Carlos. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the San Carlos Miracle Church at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be at Upper Peridot Cemetery
